常看大聯盟球賽應該有注意到，在第七局攻守交替時，現場觀眾會一起唱這首歌"Take Me Out to the Ball Game"（註一）（帶我去看棒球），在重要大賽時，甚至會請名人來帶動唱，這時攝影機就會捕捉現場觀眾唱這首歌時的歡樂情景，唱完後大家會喊"Let's get some runs！"（讓我們多得一些分數）（註二），為地主球隊加油。在今年2008年，這首棒球歌曲要過一百歲的生日了！

"Take Me Out to the Ball Game" 的歌詞是1908年Jack Norworth在紐約地鐵看到看板上寫著Baseball Today — Polo Grounds，靈機一動所寫的，其草稿寫在報紙所撕掉的一小角上，之後由Albert Von Tilzer 為歌詞寫曲。在1927年，由Norworth的老婆Nora Bayes初次演唱。
Norworth和Bayes是當時非常成功的輕歌舞劇（vaudeville）的作詞者與演唱者，Norworth寫作這首歌詞只花了15分鐘。在1927年，Norworth修改了部分歌詞，成了第二版的"Take Me Out to the Ball Game"，隨後推出同時有兩個版本的唱片，再度大為流行。兩個版本的主要差異在於主角從棒球狂Katie Casey換成比較平和的棒球迷Nelly Kelly。相同點就是著名的那段，要他的男朋友帶她去看棒球。

Gil Alterovitz觀察大腸癌相關的3000多種蛋白質，依據各種蛋白質以及基因對應的關係，歸納而成四大類的對應網路，接著再根據數學模型，做空間上的轉換，也就是將四組基因分別給予一個音符作為代號，最後就能奏出一首的曲目。因為這樣的資料轉換，在新的空間上，對應成音樂的癌細胞與正常細胞就可以被區別出來。在跟正常細胞比較之後，確實大腸癌細胞的音樂，聽起來很明顯地不太和諧。

從以前就一直引以為誡，盡量要避免台式英文，像是"好久不見"直接翻成"Long Time No See"，就是其中一個以前英文老師拿來當笑話的例子。然而，最近看Prison Break（台灣翻成越獄風雲）第三季的第十一集中，裡面有這樣一個片段，壞人Gretchen對主角的哥哥Lincoln說"Long Time No See"（請見下列影片片段），發現沒想到美國影集居然也這樣用這句話。於是去查證了一下，問了問在美國的朋友，這樣用在美國的確是很平常的。所以囉，大膽的用這句話吧，好記又有意思！搞不好哪天又發現美國人也用"People Mountain People Sea"表達"人山人海"也說不定。
